Professional custom orthotic care does not have to begin with a trip to our office. At Rosendahl Foot & Shoe Center, we combine the convenience of ordering from home with personal attention from experienced foot and footwear professionals. For a new set of orthotics, our team can arrange a live video consultation, walk you through taking your own foot impressions, and fabricate your orthotics before shipping them to your door.

More Than a Foam Box in the Mail
A foot impression only tells part of the story. We also want to understand your footwear, daily activities, concerns, and what you hope to accomplish. When a video consultation is performed by one of our clinicians, it gives us the opportunity to ask questions, review your shoes, observe you standing and walking, and then guide you through the foot impression process. That additional information helps with orthotic design and function.

A returning customer may be eligible for an additional pair using an existing scan, while someone with worn orthotics may need refurbishment instead. Custom Foot Orthotics - Fresh Start
For someone beginning with a new custom orthotic evaluation or needing a new set of impressions. We coordinate a video consultation, send a foam impression kit, and guide the process before fabrication. Best for a new customer or a returning customer when we are starting from scratch.
Custom Foot Orthotics - Additional Pair - No Changes
For an existing Rosendahl customer who wants another pair made from an existing scan without requested changes. Our team will first confirm that the scan remains suitable; a new consultation or impression kit may not be necessary.

A video consultation allows us to review the new concerns and determine whether the existing scan can still be used. This gives us an opportunity to make improvements for comfort or design changes for better fit into footwear.

For customers who want their existing custom orthotics evaluated for refurbishment, such as replacement of worn top covers or other serviceable materials. We will review the condition and explain the shipping, assessment, and service process before work begins. If your current orthotics still work well, refurbishing can give them new life.

How Our Online Service Works
The steps depend on the service you select. The full consultation-and-impression process below describes a Fresh Start request and may also apply when an updated clinical evaluation is required. Additional pairs without changes and refurbishments may follow a shorter process after our staff reviews the request.
We Contact You
Rosendahl office staff review the request, confirm the next steps, and schedule a Teams consultation when appropriate.
Receive Your Impression Kit (When Needed)
For a new impression process, we send a foam kit and return materials. Keep the foam untouched until the clinician guides you through the process during the video consultation.
Meet With Your Clinician (When Needed)
During the Teams consultation, we discuss your concerns, activities, footwear, and previous orthotics; review gait and stance; and guide foam impressions.
We Review the Foot Impressions / Foot Orthotics
Our fabrication team checks returned foot impressions and/or foot orthotics mailed in to us. If anything needs to be redone or we have questions, we will contact you before moving forward.
Review and Pay Your Invoice
After we confirm that all steps to make a quality product have been completed, our office will send you an invoice via email. We do not begin fabrication or refurbishment until payment has been received.
We Fabricate/Refurbish and Ship the Order to You
Our team fabricates the new orthotics or completes the approved refurbishment, inspects the finished work, and ships it to you.
Designed for Your Feet and Your Shoes
Orthotics and footwear work together. Shoe depth, toe shape, midsole stability, and fit can affect the effectiveness of the foot orthotic and its overall success. During the consultation, we will ask to see the shoes you wear most often. Our fabrication team can create a range of orthotic lengths and profiles, with materials and finishing selected for the individual and intended footwear.
Made by Our Own Fabrication Team
Rosendahl operates patient-care locations in Boise and Nampa and a separate central fabrication facility. For new custom orthotics, usable foam impressions are scanned into a digital model. We use that model together with the clinical information to design, manufacture, and inspect the orthotics before shipment.
Additional Pairs and Existing Scans
An additional pair made from a suitable existing scan may qualify for our 50% additional-pair pricing. If your feet, symptoms, footwear, or support needs have changed, a new clinical review or new impressions may be necessary. Our team will confirm which option applies before invoicing.

Do I pay when I submit my request?
No. We first review the request and determine the appropriate next steps. An invoice is sent after the applicable assessment or approval requirements are met.
Does every product require a video consultation?
No. Fresh Start involves a video consultation and new impressions. An additional pair of foot orthotics without changes may be made from an existing scan. A consultation is needed only when updated clinical review is required. Refurbishment follows a separate assessment process.
Do I need to use a foam impression kit for an additional pair?
No. If your existing scan is still appropriate, a new foot impression will not be needed. We will confirm this after reviewing your request.
How does refurbishment work?
Fill out the form. We then send you a postage paid package to mail your foot orthotics to us to refurbish. Refurbishment is not the same as ordering a new pair.
How do I join the Teams consultation?
When a video consultation is scheduled, we email you the meeting link and instructions to join the meeting.
Should I take my foam impressions before the consultation?
No, keep the foam unused until the clinician instructs you during the video consult.
What if my impressions cannot be used?
Sometimes the foam box impression kit will get damaged in the mail or some other way. When this happens, we will contact you to explain the issue, mail you a new foot impression kit, and arrange another video consult to do the foot impression together again.
Can I order an additional pair for less?
Additional pairs made from an appropriate existing scan qualify for 50% off. We will confirm eligibility and pricing before proceeding with the request.
How long will it take?
Timing depends on the product/service, appointment availability, shipping, payment delay, and fabrication. Manufacturing typically takes 7-10 days in-house, not including shipping or any wait time for appointments, phone tag, payment, and so on. In total, expect about 3 weeks if all goes well.
